It rained when we visited so we couldn't tracked along the beautiful terraces. The area is fairly big with so many different terraces formation to look at. We took photo shots from our vehicle stopping at every opportunity and that was an hour going up and down the hill and back. There are so many paddy fields all over Bali... More

There are many rice terraces scattered across Bali. This is one of the more spectacular ones. You can see the terraces blanketing the rolling hills across the landscape of Jatiluwih. What makes this area special is that the paddy cultivated here are of the red kind. It takes about a year before harvesting as compared to the hybrid ones, which... More

Our book guide, the lonely planet, described shortly jatiluwih and we found it throygj a magasine. Small road from pacung to reach there worth the trip, especially if you have your own scooter... Reaching there you must pay an entrance fee, which i hope will be used to maintain the rice terraces. The view there is amazing especially if you... More

Jatiluwih paddy terraces is one of beautiful paddy places i ever see. It takes about 1-2 hour from Ubud (depend of the traffic). A small fee (IDR10000 or USD1 does apply to get into the scenery part of the terraces and where most of the restaurants. Restaurants in the area are quite pricey but still it is worth a visit,... To enter the area, I think there was a entrance fee/parking fee to pay. Drive up the hill and you will have a scenic view of the rice terraces. There are restaurant along the road to the top. The menu prices were a little steep but it is one of the peaceful experiences to dine with all the greenary around.... More

A small entrance fee is requested at the entrance. I was expecting more spectacular rice terraces. The landscape is nice, I liked the intense green surrounding, but the terraces are not so amazing to contemplate. For that matter, I preferred much more the Tegallalang rice terrace, in Bali still, which I found much more beautiful.

Combined a trip here with Lake Bratan to make up a full day as its a few hours drive from Legian. I have seen rice terraces in various parts of the world but these were certainly some of the most stunning. Maybe because of the rain they looked even more spectacular I am not sure, but they were so green... More
