We went kayaking with Binu on April 19 and it was one of the highlights of our India trip. I originally looked at booking a houseboat, but decided a more active experience than just sitting in an air conditioned enclosed boat would be more fun (and environmentally friendly). By kayaking we were able to go into the smallest of the... More

I will start by saying that we are not experienced kayakers but we thoroughly enjoyed our kayaking adventure through the backwaters of Kerala. It was a more active and intimate way of seeing the backwaters of Kerala than sitting on a houseboat with other tourists. On our trip, we got to enjoy some of the natural wildlife the backwaters of... More

We wanted to explore the backwaters in a more active way than just sitting on a houseboat for a day or longer. Kayaking was the perfect alternative - I would always do it again. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Moreover, food, drinks and snacks were provided at all times. We got to see the inside of traditional villages.... More

Let me first put it straight. Do not compare house boats and a canoe. They are two different experiences. You wont have the luxury of a/c rooms in a canoe and you wont have the adventure of canoeing in a house boat. So what i did was took house boat for one day and on the next i and my... More

When planning a trip to the backwaters of Alleppey, Kerala, my wife and I had all intentions of spending a night or two on a houseboat of which we had heard so much. However upon arriving and seeing the scores of huge lumbering boats with only two or four people aboard, the oil slicks along the shore and realizing the... More

I chose this activity because I did not want to sit on a fuel-guzzling houseboat, which seems to be an expensive tourist trap. Kayaking on the backwaters is a fabulous idea (and I think it will blossom as a tourist activity in the future), but both myself and the person I was kayaking with felt that KeralaKayaking has a long... All other options to explore the backwaters seem very dull in front of this one! We tried kayaking for the time and loved it. If u are visiting Allepy this must be on your list. Binu and his driver were extremely helpful. Snacks and drinks included. More

This is a very new and unique way to experience the backwaters. It is different because you actually get to participate in a fun way instead of simply sitting and cruising the backwaters for hours. They also provided us with snacks and water. It is definitely a good option to explore the area if you are adventurous. More
