Through the years, I've walked along the Promenade more than ten times both with my family and with all our friends visiting New York. This place is amazing, especially at sundown when Manhattan skyscrapers light up. You cannot get tired of the view. I believe, it a must see for all tourists ( and New Yorkers)

Fabulous views and a great place for a walk / run - be warned, right now (June '13) there is a lot of development work going on to make the 'green park piers' look amazing for the future.

Not far, nice short walk. You can also see gorgeous houses and balconies, gardens. Then you can walk to the commercial area for some food and shopping.

Take subway to Brooklyn and walk back to Manhattan through Brooklyn Heights, especially during Sunset. Beautiful area, take a walk down the nice park and go right up Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan. Long walk but it is worth it.

This walk is great any time of day.In the morning you get a quiet walk with fewer people than the afternoon or sunset. During the day it is nice to sit with your lunch and a good book, or just relax. Sometimes people sit on the benches and talk on the phone and smoke as if they were in their... More

Gracious and magnificent.....a lovely place to stroll along the East River across from lower Manhattan. Heading north, you land in the new Brooklyn Bridge park....still being developed with multiple choices of family activities.

Take a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge and head for the Brooklyn Heights Promenade you won't be disappointed. The views of lower Manhattan are worth the walk. You can have a good stroll along the promenade and see some of the homes that have a great view of the area. You also get great views of Brooklyn Bridge and beyond... More

This walkway is not necessarily a secret. It was created 50-60 years ago to satisfy the neighbors who were agitated about the new trafficway being established just below. The view from here of NY Harbor and the statue is probably the best from anywhere in the New York area. Benches line the promenade with a newly-constructed ramp trail cutting down... More
