I knew that dog sledding would be an "only in Alaska" experience we couldn't pass up, so I booked the 1-hour tour. The musher & team were waiting for us, the dogs clearly ready to go! It's a total rush being pulled by energetic dogs. Our musher, Braynn (not sure of correct spelling), was very informative along the route, sharing... More

Leslie was away on an overnight and Rian (spelling?) was our guide. What a fun experience and she willing answered all the questions we had for her. We learned a lot about mushing and now have a much greater appreciation of the sport. Thank you!!! And riding low to the ground, behind the dogs was an exhilarating feeling for just... More

My family just completed a 3 day dog sled adventure with PAWS for Adventure in Fairbanks. We did one day of mushing school, then a 66 mile round trip overnight that was fantastic. The owner, Leslie, and her helper on our trip, Kim, were extraordinary. We brought 3 of our kids ages 20, 17 and 6 with us. We experienced... More

We had a great time at the Paws for Adventure mushing school! We got to help hitch the dogs up to the sleds and then took a run on a "practice" sled that was attached to the back of the musher's sled. After that, we were on our own mushing teams of 4 dogs on a long trail through the... More

Thank you Dawn and family for a fun day of doing what we like to do best - sharing the art of dogsledding! Mushing school is one of our favorites and the tour we began our business with over 15 years ago. Happy Trails! -Leslie and the Paws gang More

We were staying at A Taste of Alaska Lodge and my wife wanted to experience a dog sled ride. Paws for Adventure was close by and convenient. My wife had a great ride (you can just ride for 1/2 hour, hour, or more, or you can try your mushing skills). The owner Leslie was very nice and let me get... More

We made a reservation for a dog sled ride with Leslie via email. Everything about this adventure was wonderful. Leslie gave us tips on how to get there (10-15 miles out of town), she had warm clothes for us (pants, parkas, gloves, hats), warm drinks, plenty of friendly dogs. The musher stopped to take pictures of us in the most... More

We visited Alaska in November 2012. As we were making our plans, my wife shocked me by suggesting we do a dog sled ride. This is a lady who thinks a winter outdoor adventure is walking from the front door to her car outside. So we went to their web site, filled out the contact form and got a conversation... More

I did an 1 hour dog sled with paws. The hostess is very nice. She has about 40 dogs. They are very cute and you can have close contact with them. They provide clothes and pants which keeps you from the coldness. During the ride, you can also ask to stop for pictures. If condition allows, you can also try... More

Did the short sled ride with Leslie and it was a brilliant experience. Was going to see the start of the Iditarod in Willow while in Alaska and thought experiencing mushing before hand would be a good idea. We had a brilliant morning there, driving up the snow covered wooded road to her ranch was great in our 4x4, and... More

I was in Fairbanks on business and thought this would be a great way to see the Alaskan countryside. The scenery was beautiful. Paws for Adventure usually requires a minimum of 2 people per sled ride. However, they made an exception for me and let me experience the ride solo. Great hospitality. Thanks for the experience of a life time!
