A bit chilly in March so April may be better for a visit. Great huge shade trees all over historical district.

A lovely spot to sit and read a good book In the heart of our unique city. We have many squares and the are all beautiful.

All the squares downtown are cool and quiet, but this one's near a church and the bells add to the calm. Also nearby is a great little bbq place called Angel's--take out and eat here!

In its own right, Chippewa Square is tranquil and simply beautiful. In addition, it's whre the scene in-which Forrest Gump was sitting on a bench while waiting the bus, was filmed. Very charming.

The park contains the statute of Oglethorope who founded Savannah! GREAT expresso shop on corner and nice shops on that same street.

We did not know Forest Gump was filmed here until we arrived at the Birthplace, it added to the thrill of visiting there.

Great atmosphere to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee and the paper. Gallery Espresso is on the square and is a wonderful coffee house.

It was a nice square to visit. You can see the place they filmed the bus stop bench scenes in Forrest Gump. But the bench is not there. Its at the Savannah Visitor Center museum.
