This is the oldest community theatre in Florida and a real treasure. We have been supporters of this institution since moving to the area 17 years ago and enjoyed almost every performace. They are creative and not afraid to tackle tough productions. They are intending to produce Les Miserables in the 2013-2014 season. If you are in town and looking... More

Easy to locate, interesting design and a good selection of current movies available. The admission price is also reasonable.

Well done productions. Nice atmosphere in a cute part of town. Parking is always a challange, though.

Have seen 2-3 shows there and quality is always very good Often there are appetizers etc available before the show. It's well-maintained and classy. Definitely support this community theater.

Theatre Jacksonville is one of the oldest amatuer theaters in the United States. It's been upgraded so the air-conditioning (this is the south ya know) and sound system has been improved. You can see the stage from any seat. But wait - the best part is still the performance. Local talent is sometimes supplemented by a well known performer who's... More

I love all the shows that they have there. I look forward to the Nutcracker every year.

Cycling in delightful San Marco Square we spotted the theater and determined that they had a show that evening. We bought tickets via the web-very easy. We were greeted like special guests when we picked up our tickets before the show. The show was "The Night of January 16th"by Ayn Rand. We found it easy and fun to follow. We... More

Not what it was many years ago. It was an icon of arts for many years but, has gotten into more esoteric artsy presentations. Many good memories of years ago.

As a longtime admirer of the arts, I can commend Theatre Jacksonville (TJ) for their considerable commitment to community theatre in our area. It fills a vital need in offering a place for part-time actors, technicians, and directors to play with their craft. But, it is after all, only community theatre. Certainly after 25+ years of seeing productions there I... More

After almost 20 years as a season subscriber, I am continually reminded at how wonderful the Theatre Jacksonville is as a volunteer-driven community theatre. The performances are extraordinarily well-done, and making an evening in San Marco is always enjoyable. Why this little gem is still a "best kept secret" amazes me, since it is the best live entertainment deal in... More
