The walkways are either paved or boardwalks. There are three walk-through aviaries which allow good photo opportunities along with shooting from the boardwalks.

The Jacksonville Zoo has really tried to put the anmals in large natural looking enclosures. There are areas where you can walk above the animals and see them roaming freely below. The zoo is large and beautifully landscaped. There are lots of different animals to see. The zoo has different additional attractions throughout the year. Currently they have animatronic dinosaurs spread along a trail in the woods.

Spent the day at this great attraction with my 20 month old great grandchild. Plenty places for food and at resonable price. All the bathrooms were well kept and clean.
