So much to see and do, Definitely allot adequate time, depending on your interest level. Starting at the museum / visitor center is a smart choice, but can be very time consuming in and of itself, so plan accordingly. We spent about 2 hours in the museum. We did a driving tour. Given that it was memorial day weekend, we... More

If you love history, this is a must see. I did the self guided audio tour. It's a good tour but you do miss some very nice memorials if you just go to those locations on the CD. There are side roads to take and most of those were well worth taking a detour. I suggest also getting out of... More

Take a guided car tour (your car, guide drives) to appreciate the history of those three critical days in 1863.

The tour guides do a wonderful job of making the whole scene of the battles and the plight of the soldiers (many only 17-20 years old) come alive.

Make sure to do the Visitor Center and Museum 1st. The 'Auto' tour is well marked and easy to follow right out of the Visitor Center. There are tours available by bus, you can also 'rent' a guide or buy a tape/cd to use in the car. It is quite long and will take a couple of hours to complete... More

Of all the civil war sites I've visited this is the best! The Cyclorama is not to be missed as it brings a civil war battle as up close and personal as possible without actually being there. The museum is well laid out and very informative. The video presentation on the battle of Gettysburg is broken down into three parts,... More

The park is just beautiful and well kept and the visitor's center is a must see stop that every age can enjoy. We,ve hooked out grandchildren on civil war history by taking them here.

The battlefield is impressive by it's size and quietness...if it wasn't for fellow tourists and cars you could almost imagine the sounds. The best thing is the ability to drive your own car and see things at your own pace. We encountered a number of tour buses and school groups, but we were able to time ourselves around the throngs...
