Very creative spin on an old play. Something for everyone. Everyone was laughing from toddlers to adults.

A delightful and witty musical. This a revival of the 1972 Steven Sondheim plat which won numerous Tonys. The theater is a nice size and all seats appeared to have good views of the stage. Well acted and a simple, but very nice set. Glad we saw it!
Just saw Little Night Music at the Arden. This was a romantic musical comedy and refreshing break from the serious content of the other shows, which, although outstanding in every respect, dealt with the more lugubrious aspects of human nature. A Little Night Music counted with some of the best, award-winning actors in the Northeast US.

Fascinating mix of play selections from classics to new discoveries, theater space that can be reconfigured according to the need of the stage setting, affordable prices and a quality mix of repertory company actors with added performers well-selected to the roles. Great theater experiences. The Arden houses two theaters so there is always a worthwhile performance.
I have been a subscriber to this theater for quite a few years. They have two stages, with an intimate feel. Performances have a local slant; local actors, plays. Sets are nicely done and acting superb. They also have pay what you wish performances that benefit local charities.
The best and most consistent theatre in Philadelphia - I have been a subscriber since they were in the back of a church, down an alley.
Excellent cast, engaging performance. 3 acts, with 1 short intermission and 1 "break". Smaller theater, higher seats might be difficult for those with mobility issues. Parking across the street is $23 with ticket
It's blasphemy to some to criticize the Arden, but more often than not it's exhausting to sit through a play there (on the main stage, anyway). The artistic director's choices bring together some awfully ponderous plays, histrionic acting, and self-conscious directing, leaving you feel that you've been hit over the head with Deep Meaning, Dramatic Foreshadowing, Big Important Life Lessons...

I've been a subscriber for the past two years. The shows are well acted, directed, and produced. The set designs are fantastic. The theaters are small enough that all of the seats are good. My personal favorites were Next to Normal, Clybourne Park, and Raisin in the Sun.
I was given 4 tickets to see Cinderella in December. The play was fantastic. It is a great theater for your children to enjoy the arts in Philadelphia without spending a fortune. All seating is in great viewing area of the stage. We cannot wait to return for another play.
