Make sure you have a day or two to spend at the Met. Take the time and get with a museum interpreter so you understand more of what is on display. It was breathtaking! We did not have enough time scheduled to take it all in. From Egypt to North America and everywhere in between it was fascinating. I personally... More

I loved this museum! It's my favorite museum in NY! The Egyptian part surprised me, even after seeing the louvre!

Stunning displays and live chamber music to enjoy a drink or a bite. Imagine that! Incredibly different art in various galleries. The Impresionists were my favorite!

This was my 3rd visit and I always choose a few exhibits to avoid being overwhelmed. This time the Photographs from the Civil War was on exhibit and was outstanding. My husband and I spent 5 weeks touring Civil War battlefields in 2003 and I still saw new photographs and new information at this exhibit.

It was amazing to see how huge this building was and all the art in it. The only downside was that there is so much to see, and if you do not have a tour guide you miss a lot of things. I only spent an hour there as I was on a school trip but, it is definitely worth... More

I'm sure that almost everything that could be said about this place has already been said. But still...WOW...what a place! We spent about two hours inside on Saturday, and I'm sure we could have used another week without getting to everything. We took the subway from NYU up to 86th street, which left us with a relatively short walk. The... More

Not terribly crowded. Enjoyed seeing works I have only heard about. Enjoyed the "form and function" area.

The Met is stupendous and its new galleries are fantastic. Plan a few shorter visits because it is SOOO big, glorious and comprehensive that it overwhelms. Even the shop! My parents took me to the Met when I was a kid. My brothers went to Egypt and medieval warfare areas. I loved the Chinese and Japanese pottery. (Still do.) My... More

This current exhibition first shown in Paris is so unique that it should not be missed. Read details on museum's website.
