The San Diego zoo is beautiful, and well laid out. Buses are available for an on/off tour should you choose. We walked the entire zoo, and it is huge! The animal exhibits are well done and the pandas are a delight. All in all, a lovely day and well worth the trip!

The San Diego Zoo has a great reputation, and I'm sure the people there are doing a great job of keeping the animals healthy and providing a safe place for endangered species, etc. However, I must say that we were underwhelmed with our experience there. First of all, we paid $173.20 for 2 1-day Plus passes and 2 Discovery Tours.... More

This zoo is almost 100 acres and is really well laid out with lots of great exhibits. Tour buses run through it and admission prices were reasonable for the size & scope of the zoo.

Great Zoo! The “zoo people” i.e. trainers etc... were very forthcoming in giving explanation on the different animals. Great for families. The only thing that needs improvement are the indication in the parking lot and on site.

As members, we visit this zoo 2 or 3 times a year even though we live over 100 miles away. The key is to arrive early and walk to the back of the zoo. Try to see the big cats first while they are awake. The new 4D theater is a good sit down break after walking or standing for... More

Easy to get to, plenty of parking, very clean. A good walk around, plenty to see. There is some elevation up and down, so get a guided tour if you have difficulties with hills. Healthy food options were appreciated.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day at the zoo. First we went on the guided bus tour so that we could get our bearings - got some great photos from the top deck. We had a nice lunch at the Safari Cafe and found the Sky Safari to b very useful in helping to get around. There was a great variety... More

yes this is big zoo and yes they have lots of animals. problem is that most of them are not really accessible for enthusiast photographers.e.g. why they put the otters so far away is a secret to me. the whole place is nicely set up and the staff is really helpful. and with 40 usd per person it is no... Amazing zoo. Take the bus tour. The zoo is large and hilly. The escalator things that can bring you up some of the hills were out of service.
