When the big Dig was proposed, we were all told that a special park area would be built over the tunnel. DSo fare - there is very little "special" in it.

Came here in summer 2011 with my kids. Really lovely day, lots of kites flying, kids playing in fountains. At night the various fixtures light up. Right near the New England Aquarium, which is great for kids, and if the Aquarium is crowded, this is a great place to hang out for a bit.
The old artery is gone, and it was an ugly mess. Today, the Greenway snakes its away along Boston's waterfront, presenting a different view and artistic beauty at each turn. Start out near Chinatown and walk thru the produce gardens that are overshadowed by a giant print. Heading north, there are sculptures, gardens and a dancing fountain full of laughing...

Start in the North End and follow the Greenway to South Station. It's not a long walk but you get a nice walk that straddles the city waterfront and downtown. The greenway is broken into sections that feature art and gardens. I recommend exploring the side streets (neat shops) and the walk ends in South Station with a Farmers Market/Food...

This was a nice idea, but with all of the beautiful places to linger in Boston, I don't appreciate an area surrounded by traffic. Not worth the money spent on the project, in my opinion.
This rambling park replaces an overhead highway system in Boston. It has completely changed access from one part of the city to the waterfront and the North End of the city. The park is still new and is improving with new plantings and activities. A welcome change to Boston!
The BIG DIG in Boston was costly to make this greenway. I love it but our city is still reeling from the expense. I enjoy the green, the fountains, merry go round etc. Great green space in the city (that is the Common or Public Gardens) which is nice. Despite the Big Dig, we still have congested roads.
I just love the Greenway it is well kept with nice fountains, flowers, and great views of downtown. You can walk from one end to the other taking stops along the way at all the various pubs, restaurants, and attractions. My favorite Pub being Barney Fanning's on Broad st great fish and chips, a buck a shuck oysters and a lobster roll that ranks among...

The Greenway is a work in process. It roughly follows the area where an elevated roadway once stood in downtown Boston. There are planted areas, grassy areas, and areas to play in water features. It's a nice place to take a walk or to relax and enjoy the sun.
The Rose Kennedy Greenway is a great place to visit with or without children. It is a lovely respite from the hustle and bustle of the waterfront area. For kids there is the carrousel and the great fountain. There is also the Boston Harbor Islands Information Center and and close by other attractions - like Emack and Bolio - some...
