The first thing i saw at our arrival at San Francisco was the Golden Gate Bridge with the charactiristic red colour. It's really beautiful. It's the connection between Suasalito and San Francisco. In front of the bridge is the statue of Joseph Strauss, an ambitious but dreamy engineer and poet who was the creator.Te Golden Gate Bridge is the most beautiful,... THis is a must see when in "The City"; and if you can go on a day when it is foggy..... there is nothing quite like it.

We drove over the bridge several times during our stay. The history of the bridge is very interesting. It was really great when we finally got to see the bridge not covered in fog. Beautiful sight!!

Absolutely breathtaking! Be sure to walk across the entire bridge from one vista point to the other.

For me it’s a media hyped place. It could be a much visit placed before ages but now certainly dozens of other bridge and places better that. People may be visiting this as SFO trip is incomplete without going to this place

Take a bike across, better still get a guided bike tour and learn about the area. Watch out for other bike users and pedestrians.

Hired some bikes and cycled over. On a clear day you have amazing views that stretch for miles. Start at the fort for excellent photo opps and walk/cycle up.

I have been to Golden Gate Bridge a few times. But nothing beat biking across the bridge, it was just amazing, The view was spectacular and breathtaking. We biked on the left hand side which was mostly bikers and very few passengers. It made it easy to navigate.

Take MUNI if you can, parking is limited. Make sure you bring layers of clothes ...the wind whips right through the Gate and you will freeze, summer or winter, if a cold wind is blowing! A nice day in The City is not indicative of a warm walk across the bridge!

You've seen it in movies and pictures, but nothing captures the real thing. Its awesome, and dominates the landscape from wherever you look at it. Strongly recommend cycling across, but make sure you dress warm as it can get really windy up there, EVEN in the summer.
