The Alcatraz night tour was good but we did not get to see as much of the island as we thought we would. It's one of those things you need to do once when visiting San Francisco, but it's not something I would go to see again.

Enjoyed this tour because you are able to visit at your own pace, several steep inclines to walk up so wear comfortable shoes! The view of San Francisco from Alcatraz is worth the trip in itself.

Very interesting stories and great views of SF. Book well in advance as it's often sold out weeks ahead. You can book on line.

This was a great thing, and my boys ages 9 and 11 loved it too. We went with grandparents, extended family. We enjoyed the boat ride and the views at Alcatraz. And the prison itself is fascinating. We had wanted to go for years. Advance tickets are a must on this--like WEEKS in advance. Maybe even months. They sell out.

A perfect day of adventure on Alcatraz. Right from the introduction movie through to the moving around the cell blocks that bring the past and the lives of the prisoners,their revolts, attempted escapes,their confinement and anguishes alive. A must visit half day or full day trip

I wasn't really sure I wanted to visit Alcatraz. It's just a prison on an island, right? As it turned out we had a fantastic time. The information warned about a steep walk to the top, which worried me, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. And the history was so fascinating, as was walking through the cell block... More

Really loved the trip to Alcatraz - made by the audio tour which I would recommend for bringing the place to life. Loved it - one of my top 3 experiences in San Francisco

The tour is well organized. We arrived 30 minutes prior just lije suggested. The trip on the boat was cool bit great opportunity to take pics of the bay. Dont skip the 16 minute movie. The bedt part by far is tge voice guided tour through tge penetentary. A must do in San Fran.

Well worth a visit, excellent audio commentary provided. A must do in San Francisco. Make sure to book online in advance as it is very popular and can be difficult to get tickets at short notice. (Oh, and make sure you take a jersey, it's breezy!)
