I knew going in that the Dole plantation was very touristy, but I was still disappointed. We were approached by no less than three Maui Diver salespeople offering us the opportunity to 'try' for a pearl in an oyster within the first five minutes of walking into the gift shop. We avoided the train tour based on other reviews. We... More

Consider visiting this separately from a tour: they will give you about 20min only. That will be just enough time to go to the bathroom and maybe buy an ice cream. You won't be able to really explore the store or the outdoor maze. There's also a neat garden bed in the back showcasing different varieties of pineapple. The farmers... More

I'd read enough reviews and talked to a few people who had visited to know exactly what we did and did not want to do. I knew the paid tours were a big "no" for us. We wandered through the pineapple growing area (free, quick, and interesting), we did the maze (pretty cheap with coupon, competed against the kids, set... More

Very disappointing. Stood in line for a half hour and none of the tours worked. All the audio was out and no one told you. Ice cream was good but that was about it... Very expensive train ride with no narrative. Total waste of time.

This was a fun stop, however my 2 grown sons couldn't go through the maze because it was raining, but we took the train ride & it was very informative & fun even in the rain(they had roll-down plastic sides so we could see & not get too wet. Check out the gift shop & try some of the Dole... More

Nice grounds. the Pineapple ice cream was GREAT but way to expensive. We rode the train around the pineapple field but we did not even have any narration as it was not working. Not worth it. It took over an hour to get here and the are much better places in Oahu to go to.

I was excited to see where pinapple grows and get processes but this place is not about that. There is a short chu-chu train ride around the plantation with a narrator from the microphone about James Dole the founder and you can see pinapple bushes all over but I was excepted to see workers harvest the pinapple but noone was working... We were staying at the Disney resort, drove up to the North Shore early in the morning. Then got to the Dole Planation about half hour after they opened up. We went to get tickets for the pineapple express train. There was construction on the train path, so we really didn't get the whole tour, they reduced the price of... More
