We decided to go on a day trip to the Island of Molokai. The package we chose was the Alii Guided Tour. We traveled from the Lahaina Harbor on the Molokai Princess which was an older ferry. Once on the island we explored the island in a air-conditioned van. Our tour guide's name was Rudy. Rudy was very informative in... More

My family and I took the Molokai Princess to and from Maui during whale season, and were delighted with all the breaches, not to mention glimpses of schools of flying fish. We found the rates very affordable, especially considering the alternative. The weather was good, and the water was calm, and so seasickness was not an issue. To consider: there... More

We have been coming to Maui for decades, but never visited the island of Molokai, one of two islands nearby to Maui and part of Maui County. So this trip, we finally pulled the trigger and booked the ferry/drive tour where for one price, you get a ferry ride to and from Molokai and a rental car to see the... More

On a recent trip to Maui, my husband and I noticed that there is daily ferry service from Lahaina to Molokia and that there is a day tour that you can take of the island. Having read the book, Molokai (which is quite good), I was curious to visit the island. A word of caution about this trip - The... More

We took an excursion from Lahina to Molokai. The entire thing was what I call "the excursion from hell". First to the Ferry ride. Thank goodness I don't have seasickness. This has to be the worst conditions I have been in and the ride back was even worse. On the way over the swells were 6-8 feet. On the way... More

I'm a local concierge and would never recommend the Molokai ferry unless forced. However that being said it is way cheaper than the plane. If you are an adventure lover and on a budget take the ferry. If you value comfort and get seasick at the drop of a hat, take the plane. Also, if you are a senior citizen,... More

We took the trip across from Molokai and were amazed at the number of whale we saw. Didn’t notice anything wrong with the ship and had a great time talking with many of the other passengers. Isn't a Princess Cruise Ship and may not be suitable for princesses.

1 hr 45 min of rough water (both ways) on a Ferry that badly needs some updating. Crew was curtous and helpful. The ferry was fairly clean, but the ride was a wild one... the ship was airborn on a couple occassions. But we made it safe and sound to both Molokai and back to Maui. I'm not sure I'd... More

We have been visiting Hawaii and Maui along with the other Islands for over 30 Years. We love our trips and we come back there every 15-18 months. This time we found out about a Day trip to Molokai via Maui / Molokai Ferry from Lahaina Harbor, Lahaina, Maui, HI also taking a excellent day trip /tour of the Island... More

Ferry was local transportation. Obviously much used, dirty, worn, only concern of staff on return trip was to warn the trip would be rough so go below or you would get wet. It's what you might expect in a 3rd world country, not in the USA. It was very rough so sat below on the greyhound seats. We were met... More
