A-Bay is a gorgeous beach near Hilton Waikoloa. The water is crystal-clear & the beach a beautiful white! A must-see in the Big Island
We enjoyed this beach as it was close to our lodging. We checked out a couple of other beaches up north but ended up coming back to A-Bay. Loved that it has shaded areas as well as sunny and that there are free lounge chairs.
We swam with turtles and saw them lying on the beach every single day. The beach is quite nice (some small rocks mixed in the sand.) The water was flat when we were there which made for great snorkeling, but no boarding, but I hear you can do that too.
Natural beauty does not have to be big. This little quiet bay is very picturesque and shows its beauty in quite different way that grand beaches of Waikiki on Oahu or Kaanapali on Maui. There are no crowds and restaurants on the beach. If you like peaceful walk through quickly changing surroundings, lovely trails, sea turtles crawling the beach, grand... More

The rich purple/pink/orange/red colors seem unreal, but they were exactly what we saw on several nights during our recent visit. The sunset photos, alone, are a great reason to visit this beach! The tsunami seemed to have caused some damage, which was being repaired... More

The tsunami breached the beach at the north end of the fish pond opening it up to exposure to the ocean and its tides. The beach didn't seem as deep either. Some landscaping is gone and the whole atmosphere... More
This beach is easy to access and very comfortable. Did go for the sunset. In the winter the surf is high - but this is a great bay easy to get in and out of.
