We came upon Mauka Meadows by accident when Hula Daddy was not yet open. It was raining lightly, and they had thoughtfully left a bucket of umbrellas at the upper parking lot. The garden is perfectly manicured and has many very lovely things. Particularly splendid is the Blue Jade vine on a trellis. There were so many blooms it was... More

What a wonderful hidden surprise! The gardens and grounds are beautiful to walk through along with the peaceful infinity pool at the bottom. This is a must see!

The gardens are beautiful, labelled, well tended. We saw allspice trees, cashew, mandarin, ....so many different varieties. The infinity pool and view of Kona/Kailua is stunning. You get to sit there, drink coffee samples and admire the view. We bought some of the coffee we sampled.

This is a must see if you get to the Kailua-Kona area. Besides really great coffee, the view and the surrounding gardens are breath-taking.

Mauka Meadows was a donation to the Island of Hawaii from the Japanese company, Douter Coffee Company, as a way of saying Thank You for the success they had. This is a lovely botanic garden with lots of varieties to enjoy. A lovely cottage at the bottom serves free small tastes of coffee as you sit in comfy chairs looking... More

Oh, they have great coffee too! We literally stumbled onto this place. We were looking for a different coffee tour, and found Mauka Meadows. We were very glad we did. This coffee plantation is set in the middle of an amazingly well maintained garden, with tons of Hawaiian plants and trees of all varieties. Many of the plants and trees... More

The gardens is beautiful. The views of Kona are breathtaking. We visited them on May 18th and it was raining and cloudy and still beautiful. They have a good size parking lot, complimentary umbrellas for all visitors. Walk down the guided path and you will find plants, animals and coffee plants on your stroll. Once you get to the bottom... More

More than a Kona coffee farm. The gardens were superb with most of the plants labeled. Free and a good sized parking lot considering you are high on the hillside. A caution - you walk down a steep well pave winding roadway through the gardens but they drive you back up to the parking lot so don't let that stop... More

We love the fact that these gardens are just above Kailua-Kona. Seems all of the gardens and attractions worth seeing are over in Hilo. Staying in Kona, Hilo is a long and slow drive for day trips. These gardens are so worth seeing and spending the day at. In the middle of the gardens is an infinity pool that is... More
