This long-time museum has moved to new locations. The current theme is JH at play with great historical photos, movie clips, and still life demos. The staff are warm, friendly and enthusiastic. It will only improve with planned Shoshone demo when they get more funding. Plan on 30 minutes. More

The Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum on North Cache Ave in Jackson Hole is newly relocated and redesigned. This museum is set on a hillside outside of Jackson and the building itself is worth seeing. The western and nature painting collection is extensive with high quality artists and presentation. The museum also has a good luncheon cafe. More

This museum is definitely worth visiting. It explains the history of the area from the early Native Americans through to the ranches that hosted tourists. They have lots of artifacts.
