The preserve buildings were closed for the season but the walks in the area were lovely. It is also a short walk to Phelps Lake which supposedly is a sight for moose although we didn't get to see one.

This is something that is fun to do with a morning in Grand Teton National Park! We went early in the morning and enjoyed lots of wildlife sightings. The walk was just outstanding! It's an easy hike for pretty much anyone!
Its a nice hike--short and sweet. Saw deer on the trail when we went. The only negative when we tried to go mid summer is the parking....there's not enough space to accommodate the people so you have to sit in your car and wait for someone to pull out.
This is one of the best trail heads in the entire park I think. So many hikes can be reached from here. Definitely bear in the area, so don't be one of those idiots without it. Parking can be a bit tricky so get there early and plan on spending awhile and hike up to Phelps Lake.
This was a very educational place to visit. Took some nice photo shots here. clean rest rooms and helpful staff. very green to the point of giving special parking for our hybrid vehicle.
This visitor's center and associated areas and trails are amazing. The fall scene is spectacular with the leaves changing and falling along the paths . . . close to heaven with the elk bugling in the distance. Another of the best use of your time as a visitor.
A great place to sit and relax at the visitor center or at the lake. In the visitor center you most go sit in the audio nature room. Listen to the sounds of nature from the insects, to rain to the bird flying past your head. The library has great books to browse through. The hike to the lake is...

Nice facility...hiked up to the lake from the preserve. Beautiful easy to medium hike. Facility is easy to find although parking fills up quickly. Go early.
This preserve is some 5000 acres which was the Rockefeller family ranch in the Tetons, which was passed into the hands of the Grand Teton National Park a few years ago. This is a perfect venue for easy summer hiking with well maintained trails or cross country skiing in the winter.
Very thoughtfully designed visitor center and easy trails that take you to wonderful Phelps Lake. If its a hot day, bring your swimsuit!
