Even though I did not stay at the resort, I still thought that this was a wonderful place. I went as a volunteer to help clean up the ski slopes and so got to see the inside of the resort and got to swim in the indoor/outdoor pool and ride in the paddle boats, and meet the staff, who are... More

The resort overall is very nice. We enjoyed the village feel with varied restaurants and entertainment. We were disappointed in the ski school. We had a first time skier with us who purchased a ski school session and did not have a good experience. The main reason is the area on which they teach. The teaching area is both downhill... More

There is no doubt that Snowshoe Mountain has the best terrain and snow conditions anywhere within driving distance of the southeast. While it's obvious that Snowshoe has invested a lot in the village and overnight accommodations, it appears that the mountain is now overcrowded. The lift lines appeared understaffed, with a chaotic boarding process. It would have been nice to... More

Having only skied at Massanutten and Wintergreen, Snowshoe was a wonderful treat for me and my family for skiing/snowboarding. I start off with the one drawback and that was location. The trip was about a 4 ½ hour drive for us and it wasn’t the distance itself that was challenging, it was the mountainous, curvy drive to get there! An... More

This resort has a great village at the top of the mountain with lots of places to eat and shop. They have a big school for skis and snowboarding, for both kids and adults. Beginners can ski all day on the bunny slope - Skidders - it's large enough with enough variation in terrain to get good practice. Then, green... More

Spent a nice long weekend at Snowshoe and enjoyed myself. It was the tail end of "presidents week" so id imagine it is typically not as Packed. Im a beginner snow boarder and enjoyed the blue squares the best-- green circles were way to flat amd had to unstrap my bindings to walk several times. Also .. Many of the... More

We stayed at Expedition Station in a three bedroom condo. It was nice. The beds were bad, but other than that, everything was good. We had great conditions for skiing, but the runs were packed with people. Not much ski patrol presence - but a lot of out of control skiers and snowboarders. Even in their "expert" only section there... More

A group of 12 went for a long weekend and rented a 5 bedroom in Loggers Run. It was ski-in/ski-out and had its own private hottub. Snowshoe villiage is a great option for east coasters looking for some winter fun. Although its not a rocky mountain resort they do a great job making it feel like it. Everything is convenient... This is my fourth time at Snowshoe and I am still loving it. You're almost guaranteed to have snow on the slopes no matter what. Before you drive up there be sure to check the road conditions in WV (on their website) or you can be in for an unpleasant surprise just miles before the resort. I would generally recommend... More
