Well, history isn't exactly the steamy part of your romance novel, lol... But I love learning state history and all the exhibits are absolutely wonderful. I'm a slow explorer and really enjoy examining details so I will be back to see the rest of the museum at some point.

Many people visit places and are completely unaware of the forces that forged the culture and community. Take a walk thru this museum and experience history to better understand the present. It's a wonderful place for all ages. I never get tired of visiting.

Interesting way to see Washington State History. The changing exhibits reveal an aspect of the past we may not have known about. The gift shop has many high quality Washington soveniers. Don't miss the blankets!

We spent a day as a family in Tacoma in March of 2011. We started out at Duke's Chowder House for lunch, then visited the WA State History Museum afterwards. There was a really interesting Egyptian Mummy exhibit there at the time - which is actually why we picked it, but our favorite exhibit was the model trains. They recreated...

I have a membership to this museum and have come here since they opened. The exhibits are interesting. I would have given the museum an "excellent" rating if the exhibits were changed more often and if the third floor permanent exhibit was updated or "refreshed".

I've been here twice. It's a good place to take children, although the cool railroad setup upstairs isn't always running (which upset my friends autistic son.) The Northwest Indian exhibits and art work are definitely the highlight.

Admission is free on the third Thursday each month. My husband enjoyed learning about our state. He is a native Washington. He learned more about the history of Washington than any books offer. The past comes alive. Great venue!
