Lighthouse is now owned by WA State Parks. It needed some renovations. Hopefully they start a donation fund soon. A group used to give tours. Now that it is in the park hands things may change.
The lighthouse is undergoing a lot of renovation at the moment, but it's still worth visiting for the view and hiking. I highly recommend hiking from the lighthouse down to Beards Hollow from the light house parking lot. This is a challenging hike, however. It's perfect for those with teens or adults who think a 45 minute hike through a...

North Head lighthouse is interesting but does not compete with the Cape Disappointment lighthouse for a visit. The one nice thing about this one is the ability to tour the lighthouse. There is a small fee and parking is limited, but definately worth your stop.
You can rent the old light keeper's places for an overnight stay. Take a hike off to the nearby cliffs to see old battlements.
Lighthouse is currently covered in a blue tarp and you can't even see it. Plus, even though it's closed, they still rip you off for $10 just to visit something you can't even see.
This lighthouse offers spectacular views of the Pacific, but is unfortunately closed to the public right now while they refurbish it. You cannot go into the lighthouse, and they have some ugly tarp around the top of it, so you can't even admire it from afar. Hopefully no boats will crash into the rocks because of this...
Our timing was bad as crews were doing restorative work on North Head before the weather got bad for the winter. The lighthouse was closed and also wrapped in an ugly blue "rain coat" to protect the work going on. The scenery from the area was spectacular however. We also are interested in renting out the keepers' quarters for a...

The homes adjacent were home to the lighthouse keeper and assistants, and signs explain how they lived there so isolated, caring for the light. The homes...

We had so much fun poking around the lighthouse, the trails to the lighthouse, and the store. It was neat to see the old residences of the lighthouse keepers too. The view from where the lighthouse is perched is breathtaking. It's awesome to watch the powerful waves break of the rocks below.
