This place brings back memories and I am so glad I can share it with my little one. Fresh fruits and vegetables, arts and crafts and specialty stores show the culture and richness of Roanoke. A must see.

City market is a developing area with several cute shops, an excellent chocolate/card shop, bakery (note it closes early) and several vendors on weekends with farm goods and crafts. This is still a nice market, but it's been a few years since we were last here and it seems to have declined. They had live music - which was nice. But the number and quality of vendors has deminished. A lot of closed store fronts downtown as well. Very sad :( This beautiful city has been one of our...

Being a local Roanoker born and breed. This is one of my favorite things about Roanoke, The City Market area. In the summer time you can find all kinds of organicly grown fresh produce here. The local tomatoes always taste much better than anything you can find at the Supermarket. And theres always homemade jams and jellys and apple butter....
