Having read a few of Graves' books in my youth, I was excited to finally visit the place that is mentioned in the forwards of some of the books. We did watch the introductory video first, which was a great start to the visit, especially since my travel companion was unfamiliar with Graves. The house is beautiful, the interpretation is... Start with the audio visual before entering the house. Well worth it. The views from the house grounds are lovely. Be sure to walk up to the church cemetry as well. Makes the visit complete More

This is a well-put together visit. Interesting introductory film about Graves which doesn't outstay its welcome, and a pleasant house-you can see why he decamped there! The town itself is attractive and beautifully situated, and easily accessible with buses regularly serving Palma and Soller from the main road. Pop up to the church for a pleasant stroll and see Graves'... More

Some people are suckers for artistic shrines and I am one of them. Sometimes they can be a let down but sometimes places and buildings can epitomise the spirit of a writer, musician or artist. So it is with the Graves House in Deya. Graves lived a pretty turbulent existence for much of his early life; wounded in world war... More

We were lucky to have the place to ourselves in October. We loved everything about this charming house and garden. Enough to see and read but not cluttered or overwhelming. Gardens are very well maintained. Nothing not to like! More

In a relaxed arrival I was shown where the video of Graves's life would be shown. There was a time line on the wall and then the shutters came down and the video began. It was most informative. When I had time to look once more at the time line I made my way through the garden, taking time to... More

I must admit although I had heard of Robert Graves, I didn't know much about him. I was surprised to find he wrote "I Claudius" the television series of which we had watched a long time ago. I took the book with me to Deia and thoroughly enjoyed it. We visited his grave first at the church and a few... More

We didn't visit Ca N'Alluny until our last day, favouring other local attractions such as Son Marroig. I didn't know what to expect and didn't know an amazing amount about the life of Robert Graves, but found the "museum" informative and enjoyed going through the house, seeing the studies laid out as they would have been when Robert lived there.... I can't better the extremely comprehensive review above, but wanted to add that the house has a beautiful garden which you can wander around. The peaceful atmosphere and attractive surroundings make it a good place for thinking and reflecting - no doubt this is partly why Robert Graves chose to live there. More
