We spent a great day with Velia and Gianluca! We learnt so many good dishes... But the best of our day was spending few hours with them, experiencing the very nice italian way of cooking, talking and even visiting the village! We recommend them! More

I was one of the couples travelling with skelghyl (review below) and he very eloquently expresses our thoughts. We could not have asked for a better experience, from the wonderful hosts, the fantastic food, and the opportunity to learn from a very forgiving teacher. The receipies have been shared with friends back in Canada and have not failed yet! This... More

From the first email contact with Velia to the sad farewells at the end of an eventful day's cooking, eating and drinking this was just the best! Velia assisted with transport and 6 of us (friends from 3 different continents) attended and enjoyed the now legendary coffee and cakes to start the day. Then aprons and hats (optional but we... My wife and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary in Monterubiaglio with Velia and Gianluca. I signed us up for this class in hopes of simply learning how to prepare a few Italian dishes. We accomplished that, but we also came away with two new friends....which is much more important. We could not recommend this class and Velia enough! Thanks!! More

Velia and Gianluca met us at the Duomo and drove us to Velia's uncle's house in Monterubiaglio, about 25 minutes' drive away. Set in the beautiful Umbrian landscape surrounded by orchards and olive trees, this was a chance to see authentic Italian country living and to learn how to cook typical regional dishes. Velia's enthusiasm for food, generally, and pride... More

As I planned the details of my trip to Italy, I wanted to add a cooking class. My day cooking with Velia turned out to be more than just an Italian cooking class! Velia and Gianluca met myself and one other student in Orvieto and drove us through the Italian countryside to Borgo Fontanile, a rustic, renovated bed-and-breakfast. What an... More

My daughter and I had a wonderful time cooking with Velia in Orvieto recently. She is funny and very talented and creative. We cooked and ate and cooked and ate the most delicious food ever. Everything was great and she showed you how to present the food in an artful way. We made an appetizer, if fact three, a pasta... More

I would highly reccomend ,without hesitation or reservation, a visit , or better still several visits, to Velia's cooking school. I had a fantastic day and a bundle of laughs while learning a huge amount. Nearly 4 months later I still feel Velia's influence in my kitchen everyday and it is a very positive one. If you have a "Must... More

Myself, my husband and my 2 daughters spent the best hours of our whole holiday with this lovely lady and her husband. We learned, we cooked and we laughed. Their hospitality and generousity was truly amazing. I cant recommend this highly enough. My husband was so glad that he changed his mind about coming, as he is not cookery-minded at... More

I wrote a review about Velia's Cooking Style last summer. And EVERYTHING still rings true. We returned again in July of this year. And it truly felt like we were returning to family. Velia is still full of kindness, energy and good humor. Gianluca is still the charming host. And of course, the family members and people in the village... More
