The Temple is just like nay other temple in India with aggressive beggars and flower vendor everywhere near the temple. But I really loved the drive to Neelkanth Mahadev from Rishikesh through the scenic hilly roads ideal for photography.

Loved visiting this beautiful temple. Be sure to look for some of the "off beaten" paths up behind the little village. Worth the extra time for some peaceful moments overlooking the mountains.

We hiked up to the temple, will take you about 3 hours, from which 2 hours are quite steep. The temple and the views are worth it though. Due to the Lord Shiva festival it was very busy with pilgrims, so we didn't encounter any elephants, but the thousands of Hindi made it quite special!

Apart from the near-death experience of the jeep ride there and back, this is a great way to spend a half-day out of RIshikesh. I suggest going in the early morning for a more peaceful experience, and if you have the time, hike there instead from Swarg Ashram (around 3 hours) and take a jeep back into town.

We went on a atypically crowded day but the Darshan was excellent. The line was organised and we had a great Darshan of Lord Shiva! A good place to visit. There is nothing in particular that can be said against the place.
