This place was a beautifully white fenced farm. The tasting room is in a large white barn that has been remodeled into a nice tasting room and sitting area and event room on one side and the working are on the other. The staff was friendly and seemed knowledgable. We teased 4 ciders starting with sour and working towards sweeter.... More

Perhaps I had the wrong expectation going into Castle Hill. I expected different types of hard cider with different levels of sweetness...I was disappointed. Three of the ciders that we tried were sparkling and the fourth was still. Typically, at a tasting, the wines move from dry to sweet and I think these were supposed to be sweeter in nature... More

A nice place to visit, and an up-and-coming event venue for the area. $5 will get you a tasting of the four different ciders, and a friendly discussion about the ciders and the process how they're made. What you won't see is any of the actual process of making ciders, which is unfortunate. Unlike previous reviews, our $5 did not... More

This cidery is on the vanguard of artisanal organic cideries. The cidery itself is spectacularly situated in Keswick Hunt (fix hunting) country, surrounded by immaculate estates. They have for tasting four exceptional ciders, three sparkling and one still. Our pourer was very knowledgeable and friendly. I wish there had been a chance to see more of the production side of... Enjoyed a quiet Sunday visit to this lovely place which is relatively new on the scene. The tasting room is in a beautiful huge white "barn" set in a sea of green. Everything is bright, clean, and beautiful. They are waiting for their own orchard to mature, but for now they get their apples where they can, preferring local. Their... More

This would be great in the fall when the beautiful countryside is colored and the mind turns to apples. The cider is interesting, the facility is gorgeous (tasting part smallish), the server very informative. A nice change from wine.

My husband and I made the journey into the beautiful countryside of Keswick, VA, traveled down Turkey Sag road to Castle Hill Ciders gorgeous tasting room. Castle Hill creates traditional, dry English style ciders. Not only are the ciders delectable and refreshing, but the service was outstanding! My husband and I enjoyed a bottle on the patio, along with one... More

We had a wonderful visit to Castle Cider Hill this weekend. Although we were obviously visiting in the "off season", we still enjoyed tasting their ciders and checking out their amazing barn and tasting room! The ciders were not at all what I was expecting after having had only mass-produced grocery store quality cider my whole life!! The ciders were... More

A nice twist from the typical winery. Castle Hill is in a gorgeous setting in Keswick VA (just outside Charlottesville) with outdoor seating available. Pack a picnic or purchase light fare from the tasting room (cheese plates, olives, hummus and more). The tasting is $5.00 which includes a souvenir glass and 4 different ciders. We like the Levity, it is... More
