Shelburne Museum has outstanding collections ranging from a world class collection of Impressionist and Post Impressionist paintings to duck decoys to antique coverlets to classic American furniture. There is a carousel and circus museum for kids and a restored Lake Champlain paddle wheel ferry for dads. Plan to spend the better part of a day among well-curated collections.

You could spend an entire day at this museum, which is a collection of buildings on beautifully landscaped grounds. The Circus Building is amazing, with a collection of hand-carved circus attractions that has to be seen to be believed. I brought my father-in law who was once a passenger on the steamship Ticonderoga - he really enjoyed seeing this again! This is a world class museum that many people don't realize. Additionally, the museum will rotate art within a building encouraging you to visit again and again!
