The Chamber did a very nice job of restoring this building located on US Route 7 at the north end of Brandon, VT. Very nice displays documenting Brandon's history. During the summer months there are docents volunteering their time to aid visitors in making the most of their visit to the building and Brandon.

Although not a destination type attraction, we were in the area and like history and couldn't pass this up. Although small, it has a very good little museum on both Douglas and Brandon and we learned quite a bit. Volunteer was very knowledgable.

There's not much here, in fact the only real artifact is a chest of drawers made by Douglas. (Never knew he apprenticed as a cabinetmaker as a teen.) A cute, historic home with high-tech video shows. The volunteers at the museum were fabulous. I learned a lot about Stephen Douglas and last fall's flood from Hurricane Irene. Can't beat the public restrooms open most of the day.
