Easy hike, great views with markers. As others have mentioned, there is a lot of sand. Perfect for stretching our legs driving between Bryce and Capitol Reef.
We had a group of 6 folks make this hike in early October. We got a little later start than we had hoped, but that worked out as it was unseasonably cool that day. We arrived right about 11:00 and shortly thereafter we were heading to one of the best easy hikes I have experienced in southern Utah. I had... More
We thought few people knew about this trail, but since Zion and Bryce were shut by the feds, Calf Creek had an abundance of hikers(this is BLM land, w/ no rangers). Superb views abound in this canyon, a small Zion. The trail to the falls is about 6 miles(4 hrs RT), worth the effort. Wear boots, bring water and snacks.
The 3-mile (one way) hike is easy but has some deep sand in a few places so be ready to shake out your shoes along the way. The falls are worth the hike so take a camera. Be sure and pick up a trail map so you won't miss some sights along the way - like the pictograph at post... More
The hike is listed as 3.1 miles each way. We went during the federal shutdown-the parking lot was closed so our hike was 3.6 miles each way. This was the easiest hike we did in Utah. The trail runs along calf creek and the entire hike has shrubbery and small trees. The waterfall is magnificent-wish I knew how to share... More
Beautiful Hike good for kids and dogs. Not too strenuous and the views are awesome would definitely recommend for all
The hike to Calf Creek Falls is an amazing 3 mile trek through green canyon country. It is not a difficult hike as it is mostly level. You start at the campground, pay your $2 fee, obtain a pamphlet and go. The day was crystal clear and I was immediately struck by the brilliant colors and 360 degree scenery. The... More
We hikes in the 3 miles fairly early in the morning. We saw 3 people coming out as we were hiking in. There was no one there when we arrived. You could hear the falls before you could see them. We had been at the Emerald Pools early in the trip and this was much nicer, less crowded, and more... More
