Truly beautiful despite very high expectations. We got there mid-day and the light for photography was fine although it might be better/worse at other times of day. The hike in is very scenic and not too demanding, but you definitely need to know where you are going. We used satellite images from google earth and it was very helpful. Be... More

If you can get a permit you really should make time to go and see this amazing place. It is outstanding. The permits are hard to get and tougher to pick up but worth the privilege if you get it.

Yes, The Wave is magnificent - and it is a good thing there are protective measures in place so that it might last for future generations to see. In order to get to it, you must be chosen thru a lottery system to be one of the limited number each day allowed to hike to it. This review is the... More

A wonderful experience for anyone who loves nature in it's finest form. I would highly recommend it, but be sure you can hike 6 miles (some steep) and be prepared (some food, plenty of water, hiking boots). It was amazing!

After the long-g-g-g hike into the wave, some of it on the side of the mountain, the view is beautiful.

We had tried the online lottery 4 months in advance and, needless to say, didn't get it. And didn't really think we would win the drawing at the ranger station but thought we would give it a try. We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Kanab and could just walk next door to the ranger station. Thank goodness our number... More

Utah is spectacular, but this place is just amazing. As beautiful as the delicate arch but thanks to the permit system it is newer overcrowded. If you get the chance to see it (and the wonderful surroundings) you'll never forget it!

Very difficulty to get a permit, but if you plan in advance this is a must see on your trip! It is a little difficult to find with following the rock piles, and plan for plenty of water and snacks becuase you are going to want to stay a while. We stayed for several hours watching the way the sun... More

Must have been my lucky day. First ever entry came up trumps for a solo ticket in June! Informaiton from the BLM was very accurate and arrived to my overseas address quite quickly. I researched the net for other information and gleaned that the hike is hot in June but only about 3 miles each way. The track to the... More

Yes - it is tough to get a permit. After many failed attempts we got lucky and got an on-line permit - for six! The lottery winners who were at The Wave the day we were there said there were 89 people in line for the lottery the previous day for the ten spots. Yikes! That is a clear indication... More
