We attended story time on a Friday, and all the kids seemed to really enjoy themselves. It is staffed by friendly volunteers, and the whole facility is clean and well-maintained.

This is a excellent history of not only the Interurban Railroad, but a great history of Plano and transportation of the past. The staff is wonderful and are very informative. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your visit to the Interurban Railway Museum! Your grandmother sounds like she might be a great person for us to talk to for our "Tell Us Your Story" oral history project - we are collecting stories from those who rode the Interurban Railway between 1908 and 1948. If you're interested in learning more,... More

Over 100 years ago, this little commuter rail transit system was operating in Texas. The modern day one run besides this museum now! Nice museum that's very well done, with knowledgeable volunteers, displays and hands on exhibits for kids! Old Downtown Plano is right next door. Kids and adults will enjoy this one!

With the rise of the freeways it eventually closed and has been forgotten by all but railroad history buffs. Photos and artifacts explaing the founding of the line, it's success, management... More
