The Railroad is serviced by two vintage locomotives which include "Puffy" the 1896 Steam locomotive and oldest continously operating steam engine in the South, and a 1953 GP-7 diesel locomotive. Passengers enjoy riding in authentic 1920s and 1930s Victorian - style coaches as they take a step back in time and experience train travel as it was in the glory days of the expanding West. Pull into the Fort Worth Stockyards Station and you'll be right in the middle of the Stockyards National Historic District where the Old West comes alive. Have fun at this outstanding retail and entertainment district. « less

This trip was a lot of fun. I've taken the train ride before and enjoyed it every time. But this event is worth the money. Good food, good wine, good company, nice volunteers! More

Drove with friends who came specifically for the train ride to Ft. Worth. Took the train to Ft. Worth to stockyards, waited for return train. Never showed up, waited for 5 hours, no information at ticket counter which was closed. After 5 hours we finally had to take a cab back to grapevine to get our car, cost us $75... More

We like to bring our out of town company to this historic train ride. It is a perfect train ride for children. After the train ride, we like to walk around the Main St. Grapevine for shops and restaurants. More

We took our 10 year old son on the GVR during our Easter vacation in the US from the UK. The train itself is a fun, authentic and well maintained historic attraction and the people at the Station couldn't be more friendly and helpful, as was everyone we met in Texas and the Fort Worth Stockyards which is where the... This is a great fun train ride for adults and kids 4 and up, but any younger than that it is too long. For adults, go with a friend for chatting because the scenery in not entertaining. The railroad breaks the nonotony by the fun, surprise, old-fashioned train robery which everyone enjoys. I've done both economy and first class and... More

It is a nice afternoon, better than spending time at the mall, a bit long and the kids may get bored. We liked the Forth Worth Stokyard, nice. More
