Introducing the Moody Gardens® Golf Course, formerly the Galveston Municipal Golf Course, featuring a $16 million comprehensive renovation by the renowned golf course architects of Jacobsen Hardy Golf Course Design. Revealed in June 2008, the Moody Gardens® Golf Course still features the best historical aspects of the original layout, while significantly improving certain holes and overall course flow. The renovation included new turf grass, green complexes, elevations, irrigation, drainage, cart paths, greens and a full clubhouse renovation.

Avid golfer and have played some of the top courses in the world. This course is NOT a Torrey Pines but the location, greens, and fairways are great...Steady southern breeze on a links course is challengine.

After spending a week at the beach, this was a fantastic day out. Really enjoyed ourselves- next time we would do it over two days as there was so much to do.

What was Galveston Island Municipal Golf Course is now Moody Gardens Golf Course, now under the management of the resort of the same name. It has been completely redesigned with better hole layouts, great fairway grass and very good bunkers. The greens putt true and are of medium speed.

A wonderful layout with a wetlands surrounding the course, it provides an excellent venue for watching birds. Sandhill cranes roam the fairways on some days with rosetta spoonbills fishing close to the greens. Heavy crosswinds allmost every day.
But this inexpensive municipal golf attraction has seen better days. It needs serious renovation. Upkeep on the course has been very sparse...

Prices were good, it was challenging with water on every hole...wind is constant also and the upkeep was not great. Lots of bare spots on greens and fairways.
