Always enjoy this museum. Recent exhibition was wonderful. Museum is always clean, well staffed and friendly.
Couple of days after Thanksgiving and we decided to go downtown from McKinney and visit the DMA. This was one of those on-a-whim decisions that really panned out great. The museum was holiday crowded but not overly-so; it felt festive and friendly and it was cool noticing all the different folks appreciating the art and the building. I'd go back... More
Visited to see the Hopper Drawings and what a wonderful experience. Try the Jim Hodges exhibit while you are there (the DMA charges an additional fee - good to see both exhibits). Visit the DMA gift shop- lots of discounts for teachers, too!
Museum was bustling on the day after Thanksgiving and it's no wonder why! Terrific exhibits, great guest service and varied things for people of all tastes, interests and ages. Parking in museum garage is a bit steep as is entry fee but all in all, it was a nice way to spend an afternoon.
Dallas Museum has always been one of the most respected museums in the DFW area. The museum has a wide variety of permanent exhibits, and a traveling exhibit of Edward Hopper's works was there. The museum has a cafe and wonderful gift shop. Admission to the museum is free, but there is a charge for the visiting exhibits.
I live in Dallas, have visited this museum many times, and really like it. Previously, one had to pay an admission fee to visit the museum, but their policy has changed, and now there is no entry fee, unless one chooses to attend one of the special exhibits. If you visit the museum, be sure to also visit Klyde Warren... More

My husband recently redesigned the restoration room which features a viewing window. However if your interested in more classical or famous works the Kimball in Fort Worth is definitely for you.because of a recent very large donation there is no entry fee for the next three years as a large benefactor has paid your way in.
