Good place for a 2-mile run and to see lots of turtles sunning themselves on submerged tree trunks. The Park is a bit confusing because it has several separate entrances and the Visitor Center is off by itself. But the woman staffing the Visitor Center was extremely helpful. Note the neat labels to the exhibits in the Visitor Center--done in... More

I've been on a couple of backpacking trips in this area and have been very impressed with the camping sites as well as the trails and the views! I will be going here, regularly!

I love this place. It is priceless in many ways. The children love all the different sports that it offers and going on the picnic provided by SPES summer food program

There are so many trails and so many amazing things to see. If you enjoy hiking or backpacking this is the place for you. We visited Foster Falls, Grundy Forest, Grundy Lakes, Fiery Gizzard to Sycamore Falls, Greeter Falls and Stone Door. We enjoyed all of the area we visited and are looking forward to returning to see more. The... More

Come and stay for the weekend, and you will always want to come back. There are 7 parks within 25 miles, and they are all stunning. Stone Door, Savage Gulf, Fiery Gizzard, etc, it is stuprfying. Great place to do nothing and eat some food.

Wear hiking boots. Bring water. There are plenty of rest areas, picnic areas. The falls are unreal along with the brook and streams.

state park office helped us find the best hiking situation with regards to seeing waterfalls etc. and also turned us on to local favorites as stone door (a must in my book).

We went to both Stone Door and to the Greeter Falls loop. The Stone Door offers spectacular views of the Cumberland plateau, and it is only an easy two-mile round-trip hike. My boyfriend's 8 year old had an easy time on the hike and enjoyed the scenic views. We also camped overnight at the campground by stone door, and it... More
