Even though I went to other museums, this one was one that I also enjoyed visiting. Brought back a lot of memories of the music I grew up with.

For the price of admission, I used my AAA discount it still wasn't worth the price. It was a totally self guided tour with whisper headsets. We did the tour in less than 45 min. Nothing special, we really enjoyed the Sun Studio tour much better, they also honor AAA with a discount.
This museum is part of the Smithsonian Institution group and was very well done. Lots of memorabilia to see, lots of information from the self-guided tour recording that you are given when you walk in. My favorite part was the 10-minute video at the beginning of the museum. Lots of reminiscing, lots of gold music.
a film as you go in again another interesting place you see alot must see dont miss theres different jukeboxs you have earphones so you can sing away
we only stopped here to kill some time and wound up spending hours, enjoying every minute. you go through the tour at your own pace, there is so much to see, read about and listen to! Many different decades and types of music - you can't go wrong. Highly recommend!
Did not expect to like this Museum as much as we did. Loved the layout and the fact that you can listen to music for each display that was both engaging and informative. More geared to adults as not so interactive for the kids....music and history pitched to the older crowd but for such a small place they did themselves...

Wonderful memories of that era revived. Personal earphones and go at your own pace, was prefect for us both. Could have stayed an hour longer but had to drag ourselves away to see other things. Really good and well set out.....well recommended to visit.
This museum tells the story of african americans migrating into the Memphis area and bringing their music; the blues. And on from there to rock, etc. A most worthwhile visit in Memphis.
We were there in the morning but decided to head out to Graceland first. The signs said they'd be open until 7 pm and we took them at their word. Returned at 5:30 to find a closed sign up. Surely they knew weeks in advance that they had this function booked and could have put a sign on the door....

I got my museums mixed up. This is the one that is run by the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. This is a wonderful museum that traces the roots of blues and rock & roll in the Mississippi Delta. Each individual exhibit has a jukebox with a wide selection of songs from a particular period. Not to be missed.
