Wonderful tour, guides are excellent, cave is average ( I live close to Mammoth Cave) great efforts are made to preserve nature and cave integrity. I didn't see the Bluegrass concert, but will return to listen. The drive to the cave was an adventure!

Majestic, vast cave that happens to be the home of Bluegrass Underground. The cave hosts monthly bluegrass concerts in a large cave room that holds 500 people....it is unreal!! The talent is incredible with well known musicians... We saw Leon Russell with legendary Pat Flynn and John Cowan of New Grass Revival. The sound, the lighting, the seating and the... More

Went to a Bluegrass music show on 2.23.13 . Two hour drive from our home, but worth it. Very interesting place. The cavern is like nothing I have ever seen. Must have been about 1,000 people in this underground cavern watching/listening to the bands. There is food there too. Not fancy food, but enough to snack on. I was impressed... More

Both of my kids came here for a school field trip and liked it so much that they asked me to bring them back. I did and was equally as impressed. Its a nice spot for families and the kids can learn while they are having fun

This story is one of our favorites. We hear it from several families. Our field trips are both educational and fun. It is a really great chance for students to see in person all the things they read about in text books. We teach geology in describing the cave formations, how water erosion affects the cave, and also talk about... More

Driving from NC to Nashville, we made a point to stop here. We are a family of 4 (boys are 15&12). We did the historic adventure tour. Tyler took us on an excellent tour, was a great guide and told some interesting stories. Would love to return for Bluegrass Undergound.

We are glad you made a point to visit Cumberland Caverns on your way through Tennessee. The historic adventure trip (Higginbotham’s Revenge) is one of our best for those seeking a real spelunking experience. It’s a great mix of rock climbing, big passages, and plenty of crawling and squeezing trough tight spots. We hope your boys were well satisfied with... More

I went to Cumberland Caverns around Thanksgiving with my kids 14,6 & 5. We all enjoyed it and it has really spurred my younger ones to want to explore more caves. The tour is a mild/moderate hike with plenty of places to rest. It's very well lit & lots of handrails and steps, that I can't imagine how hard it... More

Thank you very much for your review and your visit. We have heard it said that caves are made for kids. I like to add, "kids of all ages." We do appreciate the reviews that tell those looking at a trip to Cumberland Caverns what they can expect. "Mild/Moderate" is a very good description. The walking tour is not hard,... More

I was down in your neck of the woods over Thanksgiving to see family, and came to the caverns for Bluegrass Underground on Saturday. We were glad to see there was a tour beforehand, so we joined it. I had been there as a kid and was excited about going back. The tour was great -- you have everything set... More

My husband and a couple family members visiting for Thanksgiving took the tour and stayed for Bluegrass Underground. Way worth it for live music lovers. You don't have to be a fan of bluegrass music in particular to enjoy the amazing acoustics and ambiance. We'll be back with friends. The only thing that did not resonate was the creation myth... My wife, Daughter, grandson and I drove, close to 300 miles one-way, from Memphis to see the Cumberland Caverns. The staff at the caverns were very pleasant and professional. We had never been in a cave before so we didn't expect what we experienced. We were led on our journey by Jessica and Tyler, two young and bright guides. Our experience... More

Wow! What an honor for you to drive all that way to see us. We are glad your family was able to experience the underground firsthand at Cumberland Caverns. We do spend a good deal of time training our guides before we send them into the cave. (They first have to learn where all the light switches are.) We also... More
