We visited Dinosaur Park early in the morning on our way out of Rapid City. It is a free park overlooking the town, and well worth a short visit if you are staying in the area. There are some concrete dinosaurs, and a gift shop which was not open when we visited, but we would have liked Dinosaur Park t-shirts. More

As kids 25-30 years ago, no trip to Rapid City was complete without a trek up the stairs at Dinosaur Park. I only tell you this, because I have to attribute some of my favorable review to pure nostalgia. We've now taken our daughter there twice. My trip back to Rapid City would not be compleat without a stop here. Its long walk up some tough stairs but the view is fantastic from up there!!! its a great drive into the hills to get there. if nothing else take the drive. the winding road is so much fun. More

This park is free and only requires you to take a small amount of time as a side trip on your vacation. There are some stairs to climb, but it's not that bad. Take in the view from top, have fun and don't take it too seriously! More

Ok, this is not the Natural Science Meauseam, but it is worth a visit. Wonderful views and kids can pan for treasures in the store. Snack bar on site a good value, so sit on the deck during a nice day a take in the views. More

It was just perfect b/c we didn't want to spend too much time on an attraction b/c we had a lot of driving to do. This was not only free, but easy to get to and the kids loved it.
