Too many people and has a run down look. The place is in bad need of a renovation and needs more things to do there.

Lots and lots of traffic. The typical tourist shops. Loved it all. Really crowded in the summer months. Party place for the young. Lots of fun, but lots of walking.
We went to this area numerous times. It is crowded and traffic is slow moving which is normal for the summer. The shops are typical but everyone was friendly. If you are traveling with kids you may want to avoid this area after 10:00 p.m. It is definitely the party area.
Liked the boardwalk and enjoyed the restaurants . Gets crazier at night! There is a convenience when staying at a hotel on the boardwalk if you want to walk at night. Less noise and traffic. 2nd st Pier is great! Excellent food and view of the ocean
We went here--there are a few little gift shops, a few crowded places to eat, a couple arcades- but nothing special- Nothing different. It is just something to do while you are there to kill time and walk around. Public restrooms are HORRIBLE~!
If you on a quest for exercise and a drink go to the Grand Strand. Nothing really to do unless you just want to sit on the beach or go to a side street amusement park. Maybe we should have gone at night?
lovely walk along the boardwalk and the pier has a little shop to shelter from the sun it was in the 80s when we were there
Like coming to the Myrtle Beach area, it's short drive from our home town and we can do it as a weekend getaway. Off season has really good accommodations available.
Nine place to unwind. All was in a great location to our motel. We could walk to breakfast each morning.
I booked an oceanfront room at what I thought was a very reasonable price. The beaches are beautiful, vendors all very friendly, and restaurants plentiful, and portions ample. I was in Myrtle Beach for the 2013 bike week, having attended bike week in 2008, before the Mayor and City Council decided to curtail the bike week activities within Myrtle Beach....
