Owned and operated by authors/historians/investigators Mark R. Jones and Rebel Sinclair, Black Cat offers tours aimed for the travelers who want to step slightly out-of-the-mainstream and do not want to walk with a herd. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening out with Mark Jones. Excellent stories. Wicked history. And incredibly funny. Order of the Palmetto? Really? LOVE IT!!! As a tour guide, business owner, and historian, I highly recommend Black Cat Tours. We loved that it was adults only and not packed to the gills. If you're looking for something a little different to do.... More

After spending afew days in the city, my girlfriend and I decided to take a ghost tour after my Uncle (native to Charleston) had suggested we take one. After briefly looking through the reviews and descriptions, we decided on Black Cat Tour's Ghost Tour. Rebel was our tour guild and see was outstanding! The stories she told were unique and... More

I've been on many ghost tours in different cities, but I've heard stories of hauntings in Charleston, so I was excited to take a tour there. Originally, I had planned to go with Bulldog Tours. On my first night in the city, I took a stroll and stopped in the ghost store on Church Street. The man working there suggested... More

We joined a free, Sunday morning walking tour offered by Black Cat Tours. Our guide & owner of Black Cat Tours, is a native Charlestonian and had lots of interesting anecdotes & historical photos to accompany the tour. Clearly he has a passion for his hometown. When he began his business 10 or so years ago, he offered the free... More

I went with my parents and we all found this tour highly informative and interesting! It was much more than expected, not just ghosts, but all kinds of intriguing, outside-the-box stories and tidbits. "Rebel" was engaging and very considerate. She consistently pointed out hidden steps and puddles while also offering us places to sit when she knew we weren't moving... More

Supposedly, our tour was supposed to start at 8 pm. However, our tour leader never showed and didn't bother contacting us to let us know. Very unprofessional--don't go--you'll get stood up! More

My friend and I went on Mark's free Charleston walking tour which was great. Mark was very informative and entertaining. A very gracious thing for him to do.....of course we did tip him as we felt he truly deserved it. The night before, we went on Rebel's ghost tour. That was also very informative and entertaining. Take their tours, you... More
