If ever you wish to experience a true yet realistic fishing town, then Galilee has it . Having gone there for many years, it always has that ," welcome back" experience about. Yes, a large and quite busy fishing, clamming and lobster fleet does operate out and it is realistic down to the scent of fish as the fleet returns... More

Galilee is Narragansett's fishing port. It has all the sounds, smells and activity of an active port. There are delicious restaurants to try the daily fare and little shops to buy a souvenir or beautiful clothes. There are houses to rent and also condos. The ferry to Block Island leaves from Galilee and the lines are long with happy travelers. More

This place pretty much sums up New England. I grew up right around here and know it like the back of my hand. Fresh food, fun shopping, unbelieveably scenic beaches and friendly people. You can't go wrong here. There's so much to do for adults and kids. More

Galilee is mostly known for its fishing boats and seafood warehouses. It is a very important port on the East Coast. If you are interested in the fishing industry it is worth a look. There is also a state beach you can visit, and this is the village where the ferries to Block Island depart. There's not enough here to... More

This is a RI secret. In the afternoons after a day at the beach, stop here to meet the fishing boats coming back with their daily catch. Lobsters & crabs to take home and make the freshest seafood dinner ever!! More

Nice place to go for a road trip. Small village with a lovely beach. Nice restaurants and great for walking. Nice just to sit and watch all the boats come and go. More

Please note that Galilee is strictly a commercial fishing village with nowhere to stay and bar type restaurants featuring fried fish, etc. It is where you get the ferry to Block Island. I don't think there is a beach, there are no shops, etc. I don't think there is a beach, but there are public beaches a short 10 minute... More

I have been eating here every year whenever I come to Rhode Island; and before that, when I lived with my parents. Because most of their business is at the take out window, there is never a long wait. Located in the middle of the fishing village right in front of the Block Island Ferry. The seafood is fresh and... More

There is an area on the North side of the road to Galilee where you can go clamming. Coming from Texas, we had never done this and had a great time! All you need is a bucket for your clams. Here's how it works. During low tide, you park on the side of the road and walk out into the... More
