This is a very small version of Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge MA. The most intesting building was the printing shop where they explained how the old printers worked. There was also an old schoolhouse, carpentry shop, blacksmith shop, and horse drawn carriage display. The largest building contained a replica of an old kitchen, old wheelchairs, and some misc. items. There... More

This is a very small museum but has some interesting exhibits such as the printing press and a special mini-show running this summer on historic wedding gowns. We went on a weekday, and it was a nice low-key 40 minute-visit or so. It's probably more exciting on the weekends when I think they have some living history people present to... More

This museum is in a beautiful setting. It's not large like Mystic Seaport or the Plymouth Plantations, but it has a lot to look at, in a small area, if you're interested in colonial life in New England. I think it's the most fun if you go during one of the arts and crafts fairs. It's a wonderful place for... More

We were attracted to museum because we read it had re-enactors. Upon arriving, we immediately discovered there were none. The exhibits don't really explain what you're looking at. For instance, there's a "tent" with a family in it, but no explanation. We learned the significance only because one of the people working there explained it. We spent over an hour... More

If you like Sturbridge Village or Plymouth Plantation, you'll love this place. It's a small collection of Victorian era homes staffed with friendly docents anxious to explain their crafts... carpentry, printing, blacksmithing and farming. This delightful step back into time costs only $5 but is well worth your time.
