Great place to visit. Very Historical. Only problem for me, is the place stinks. Should be less smelly. We went to a function there last year and couldn't eat. Oh well just my opinion. Was much better several years ago. More

This house is one of the few Civil War sites directly related to Govenor Sprague, Lincoln's War Governor of Rhode Island. Many people do not know that is was the financing of the A&W Sprague Textile Manufactures and Finishes that supplied the volunteers of the Rhode Island Regiment. The tour guides at the Mansion are pleasant. More

One of the most surprising parts of the tour of the Sprague property is the carriage house. It is larger than is appears from the outside and inside the brick building is a collection of transportation methods from the days of the horse and buggy. It was great. The mansion is interesting.
