Great place to visit. Very Historical. Only problem for me, is the place stinks. Should be less smelly. We went to a function there last year and couldn't eat. Oh well just my opinion. Was much better several years ago.

This house is one of the few Civil War sites directly related to Govenor Sprague, Lincoln's War Governor of Rhode Island. Many people do not know that is was the financing of the A&W Sprague Textile Manufactures and Finishes that supplied the volunteers of the Rhode Island Regiment. The tour guides at the Mansion are pleasant.

One of the most surprising parts of the tour of the Sprague property is the carriage house.
