Rhode Island has some wonderful beaches and Block island is no exception. The sand is inviting you to grab your towel, take a seat and enjoy the sun. Beachfront food and drinks are available just steps away. and their is live entertainment too.

Yay finally a nice beach to hang out on that's close in. clean for pre season cool to see lobster traps that were washed up and shells
If you're into ordering drinks on the beach, visit Ballard's Beach...but expect to pay above-average prices. Still, it's a good time with friends!
Over the years this place had seemed to get run down and dirty.
This year and last year, it has noticeably improved. Aside from still having a limited selection of beer, the food and overall experience is much better.
If your lucky enough to be there when Shawn Allen
( Now in a newly formed band called "The Crankers" )...

After having dinner at Ballards the night before - we decided to go to Ballards Beach the next day. The food great the night before and we figured why not? We had a great time again! The music was great and the our lunch on the beach was fantastic. What a Place!!
take a walk out onto the massive jetty for a view of town from 'out on the water', or grab a fishing pole and catch a meal
We stopped here for a drink before our ferry home... it's a party scene. Live music, volleyball nets, lots of alcohol. There is a huge indoor and outdoor bar. Lots of people; it really wasn't our scene at all. We won't be coming back. Our drinks weren't even that good.
Such a convenient location and great area. Very close to the ferry if you don't want to bring a car over.
What a nice surprise...great band from Atlanta every weekday afternoon! . Beach just a little steep going into the water though. One day some rogue waves came way up & got everything & everybody soaking wet so keep on the alert if the ocean seems rough!
We spent a short afternoon at the beach here. The surf was nice and we were able tp purchase drinks and snacks so it was very convenient, but other beaches on the island offer a much more natural, relaxed feeling. This was close to our inn though, so it was a nice option, versus having to take a bike ride...
