A beautiful place to visit if you are in town. Great for children, adults, seniors....you can stroll through different gardens at your own pace.
Just beautiful. A must see! The gardens are gorgeous. Recommended for adults, teens and young children.
The Arboretum is a great place to take an easy stroll any time of the year. Although, I would not recommend visiting when it is bitter cold and the wind is gusting because the arboretum is on a bit of a hill and is mostly unprotected. Taking your kids would be a good idea because there is plenty of material... More
The Arboretum at Penn State is a must see when you visit Happy Valley. It is beautifully designed. There is a "map" of the local area on the ground on the opposite side of the building from the parking area. Make sure to check this out! The trees, flowers and fountain are very nice!
My wife and I decided to visit during a mini getaway to the State College area. On reading the description on the Penn State web site, it was at first hard to determine exactly what the Arboretum was. The first time we went to even look for it, we expected to see a building. In actuality, the Arboretum covers about... More
We visit the Arboretum each fall. The grounds are beautiful and offer multiple photo opportunities. Each year, more gardens are being added. They are in the process of adding a Children's Garden which is scheduled to open next year. We met wonderful volunteers and master gardeners during our visit. This is a must see when visiting Penn State.
Who doesn't like an Arboretum? This one, while small, offers lovely meandering paths through a large variety of flowers and trees. The spring is spectacular, as is the summer. Visit the Arboretum. It is beyond description in terms of its beauty and serenity. And the view from the back is gorgeous.
First visit was on Sept. 1. Beautifully done, and they are not finished yet. The Children's garden is planned to open in June 2014. As with everything PSU does, the arboretum and H.O. Smith Botanic Garden are very well done and a perfect addition to everything else State College and Penn State have to offer. Definately worth a visit.
