The view of the city is awesome, make sure to do it at night as well. Also take time to experience the neighborhood while your up there, it is very a east coast neighborhood.
Take the incline to the top, get on at Station Square. Great area for shopping, and at night, plenty of restaurants are busy and a fun atmospehre. Stop at the top of the incline and go out on the terrace aoverlooking the city. Great for pictures of the three rivers area!
We always head up to Mt. Washington on trips back to Pittsburgh, the views are amazing at all times of the year, day and night. The viewing decks certainly test your head for heights though. Prefer to park in this area and head down one of the inclines to Station Square then paying the crazy parking prices down there!
Multiple restaurants ranging from bar food to filet mignon ensure you a view unlike any other. Don't have that kind of money or time to spend? You could ride the Duquesne or Monongahela incline for about the price of a bus ride. No money to spend? They have observation decks along Grandview Avenue that ensure you the best view of... More
If you only have time for one thing, do this. It is absolutely magnificent, the view, a sight you will never forget. I have lived here most of my life and am still awestruck by it!
Whether a family adventure or a romantic evening, any first visit to Pittsburgh has to include taking one of the historic inclines up to Mount Washington for stunning views of the city. Any visit to Pittsburgh must include a ride up the incline for the breathtaking view of the city. Check out the fountain at Point State Park, the three rivers, all of the bridges, and the beautiful architecture of the buildings. Wonderful photo ops.
I absolutely love the view of the city from Mt. Washington at night. If you're visiting the city, take the Monongahela Incline up to Mt. Washington from Station Square and walk along Grandview Avenue. Big selection of restaurants and pubs on Grandview Avenue or Shiloh Street.
Riding an incline or driving up to Mt. Washington is a must for anyone visiting Pittsburgh, especially for the first time. The views are outstanding of the city along with the rivers and bridges. Pittsburgh is a rather compact city and the best overall views are from Mt. Washington. Several large observation platforms make for unobstructed views.
