I've only visited Longwood in the spring, but keep telling myself I should make the trip in either seasons.Amazing flowerbeds (This time I was there at the peak of tulip season. Displays you could never reproduce at home, but that give you ideas anyway--many people leave with lists of varieties they want. Woodland walks, specimen trees, ponds, fountains, even a... More

My sister-in-law and I took our kids (ages ranging from 2-12) on Mothers Day. We reserved our tickets online and arrived about 30 min earlier then our scheduled time. We got there about 10am and had no traffic, got a great parking spot and had the grounds nearly to ourselves. We spent 5hrs walking around the the entire grounds and... More

Beautiful any time of the year ... this was our first visit in the Spring. Can't say enough about the color that just leaps out at you as you come upon each garden bed. The water exhibits are terrific. It never disappoints .... the only drawback this year was from a student field trip which was going on during our... More

I try to go at least once a year, either during the summer for fire works or the wintertime when they have their lights up. The gardens are vast and utterly beautiful. They have some indoor gardens, so you're not too uncomfortable with the heat/cold for too long. Definitely wear a comfy pair of shoes!

What can I say? It does not matter what season you visit Longwood Gardens it never disappoints. It by far has the best conservatory in the country. I love the gardens on the grounds, the tree houses, the fountains, the topiary garden, and the idea gardens. Everything planted is of the highest quality and many unusual plants are displayed. We... We visit Longwood often and we are amazed at the beauty each time we visit. The displays change for each season and are just fabulous. The array of flowers and greenery must be seen to be appreciated. Do yourself a favor... call in sick today and go play among the flowers.

Gardens are always lovely, but this is a step above any botanical or similar site. Lovely children's fountains and the tree houses are super fun. I could have stayed all day in perfect contentment. Even on Home School Day with lots of kids you could find quiet spots. Orchids were a delight.

My visit to Longwood Gardens made me wish to live in the area of Kennet Square so that I could visit this absolutely fabulous estate and garden on a regular basis. I can't believe I have never been there until now, since I have enjoyed seeing a number of other noteworthy gardens such as the Huntington Gardens in San Marino,... More

Fabulous! Arrive early to beat the crowd. It took the 2 of us about 4 hours to circle around the entire property at a leisurely pace. We finished at 1:30 and the crowds were streaming in. I know there are many more paths to be discovered so I look forward to our next visit. It would have been great to... More
