Today's schedule is diverse, from folk, rock, classical, and jazz. Recent renovations include a new steel roof, sound system and theater seats. Relaxed, intimate and all seats have a great view. The Opera House is located in the heart of Jim Thorpe's historic district, just a quick stroll to pubs, restaurants, lodging and shops. « less

This is a great little place to go see plays (Christmastime), and bands any month of the year. We've seen Irish Celtic Bands, Rock Bands, and a Fleetwood Mac tribute band (Tusk) twice. I've sat up on the balcony only once in the summer and it s HOT up there. They did have fans running, but we were overdressed. They... More

Who know that a venue as intimate and wonderful would reside in the quaint town of Jim Thorpe, PA? We were in town for a weekend getaway and saw posters all over town for The CAST of Beatlemania show that weekend. Being Beatles fans we insquired at our Inn and they were able to reserve 2 seats for us. Mauch... More

This was our second time at the Opera House. We saw "The Cast of Beatlemania". Ticking was easy online. We got second row aisle. The theater is very comfortable. Restrooms are clean. The tickets are always very reasonable. They have beer/wine for only $5, and some homemade cookies and cake and coffee at intermission. The acoustics are great and the... More

We drove 3 hours to see Aimee Mann perform at the Mauch Chunk Opera House. I don't know about it being a former "Opera House"? It looked more like a former, old movie theater with a stage. The roof looked to be 5 stories tall! I don't know how many people this theatre could accommodate, but it was small and... More

We had a marvelous time at listening to Eaglemania on 4/13/13 at the Mauch Chunk Opera House. We will be checking in from time to time to see what else is playing!

We loved everything about the , the food, and and the venue. This wonderful place will remain a golden memory in our hearts long after it becomes wildly expensive or sells to new owners.

Traveled from Philly to Jim Thorpe to see Enter the Haggis concert. We'd never been to Jim Thorpe and found the town and the Opera House charming and will return again in warmer weather. It was an easy 1-1/2 hr. drive. The staff of the Opera House was very friendly and accommodating. We lucked out this March with no snow... More

I would suggest if you are planning a trip to Jim Thorpe call ahead and find out what type of entertainment is at the Opera House. There was a hysterical Irish Band there when we visited. At Christmas time, they have book readings and plays. All year long there is something to enjoy at the opera house. Don't miss it.

This is a surprisingly small place to see a concert or theater production, but that is what makes it all the more enjoyable. No matter where you sit, you are very close to the stage. I saw an adaptation of Dickens' A Christmas Carol, which was AMAZING!!! Here is the description on the Opera House's website: "A Christmas Carol like... More

It's a cozy little theatre in the shopping area. They have a little bar and they even serve pie! We enjoyed a nice concert there; and even talked to the band in the lobby.
